Positive: Beautiful location.
Negative: When we got there on our way back to Minnesota for one night with our family of four with two labs, we had to pay for two dogs to clean ($150). I told them that was ridiculous. We have never done that, at most for one. After discussing with manager they corrected and adjusted to one ($75). Still left a bad taste. Had a wonderful dinner and good night sleep.

Positive: It's a wonderful Lodge/hotel. Exceeded our expectations. It is situated in such a stunning area by lake. Outside the Lodge, lots of different outdoor activities, like golf, netball, chess , swimming by the lake or the pool! No extra pay like some places do. They also have a sitting area with the fire pit lit outside so guests can make marshmallows and relax. Some nights musicians play live music. The staff were friendly and the food was lovely. I have to mention, " Schroon Lodge famous cookies." I believe the staff are making them every afternoon for people who stay at the Lodge. They were amazing! So thoughtful.
Negative: Perhaps Booking.com could add a map of all the cabins and hotel layout of the rooms? Just like they have it on their Schroon Lodge website so people know exactly what they are booking. If you have never been there before, it's tricky to picture where the rooms you're booking are located or if they are facing the lake. If you care about the view of the lake or a balcony, it's certainly worth knowing you have booked the right room. Just a thought, not a criticism.

Negative: That the Bevy wasn’t open on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Negative: The breakfast was a disappointment. On the expensive side and just not very good. The buffet: French toast was cold, the fruit-cantalope, honeydew, and pinapple looked good but were chewey--defintely not ripe yet. no cereal and milk, no oatmeal, "pastry" was poor--it tasted like it was straight from the shelf of the local gas station Mini-Mart. Dinner was expensive and also not particularly good, plus the dinner brought to my wife lacked what was on the menu-- no grilled asparagus, no cauliflower dish.
Summary: The restaurant was a disappointment. Needs a serious look at quality of the food
